Psychological counseling can be an effective way to handle stress, fear, and nervousness. Anxiety is difficult to control and can prevent us from completing our daily activities. Whether taking over our thoughts, preventing us from living in the present, and/or hindering proper sleep, living with anxiety can be managed through proper therapy.
Not all pain feels the same. Chronic pain can consist of burning, throbbing, stiffness, stabbing, etc. Sometimes pain can be associated with an injury or from an illness such as fibromyalgia or arthritis. Regardless of the pain you are experiencing, cognitive behavioral therapy can help you cope with the struggle of living with chronic pain.
Depression can be debilitating and cause feelings of hopelessness, low self-esteem, and distorts and exaggerates your perception of reality. Therapy can help people manage negative thoughts and live the joy-filled life they once experienced.
Grief and Loss
Grief and loss can come at anytime and appear differently for each individual, even when experiencing the same kind of loss. Feeling a mixture of emotions from fear, anger, sadness, and disbelief is normal when tragedy occurs. Talking about these emotions can be a healthy way to process and heal internally during these difficult times.
Family Systems Therapy
Each family member is different, bringing their own set of values, beliefs, and tendencies. If a family member is dealing with issues such as anxiety, depression, and/or pain, these struggles can affect the entire family. Family systems therapy is a way for families to work on problems together and manage change in a healthy way.
Panic attacks happen suddenly and can strike at any time. Most commonly you will experience chest pain, dizziness, hot flashes, and nausea. Whether you’ve had panic attacks before or if it’s your first time, these feelings can be frightening. Panic attacks can be difficult to manage, but counseling can help lessen the severity of symptoms.
